Cody was
born on December 2, 1985 in Denver, CO. During his 16 years he was lucky
enough to live in places like Fairbanks, AK, Englewood, CO, Stagecoach, TX
and Marlton, Medford and Lumberton, NJ. He was a charismatic, self-confident
and caring young man who aspired to be the best at whatever he did. He was a
confidant and inspiration to all his friends. He had a smile for everyone
and made friends everywhere he went. Cody excelled at sports as well as
academics. He LOVED basketball and dedicated himself to being the best
player he could be, in the hopes of someday attending and playing for the
University of Maryland. He was an Honor student at Rancocas Valley High
School, where he was proud to be a member of the Varsity basketball team. He
was active in the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church Youth Group in Lumberton.
Cody was looking forward to building a life with his beloved fiancé Jenine
Purnell of Lindenwood, NJ. Cody loved his life, his family, his girl and his
many friends, and in that we do take comfort.
He was a beautiful soul
that shone brightly. He was given the name Cody because it meant “Little
Helper” and as he matured the name proved to fit him perfectly. He will be
deeply missed by all, but especially by his mother. He was truly her “little
helper”
A memorial service will
be held this Saturday, November 9, 2002 at 1pm at the Lighthouse Tabernacle
Church 716 Main St. in Lumberton, NJ
